My mission with this foundry is to sculpt & share the soul of Côte d’Ivoire via the art of type design.

I’m O’Plérou, an Ivorian designer and visual storyteller mainly known for making emojis promoting African cultures. I’m now also creating typefaces to typographically represent the spirits of the cities of my country, and make them become vessels for worldwide communication.

I blend traditional aesthetics and cultural inspiration with contemporary design principles to create unique typefaces that speak to a global audience.

Every typeface I design strives to balance tradition and modernity.
